Recreation Unlimited Foundation
Building and Endowment Campaign
The Challenges We Face...
- Over 175,000 individuals with disabilities in the state of Ohio and surrounding five state are not being served.
- In the state of Ohio alone, Recreation Unlimited is currently serving 5% of individuals with disabilities, still leaving over 50,000 individuals not being served, a number that continues to grow.
- Constrained by physical and seasonal capacity limitations, the camper wait list is growing for Recreation Unlimited camps and mission-oriented lease groups.
- Even though the disability market is moving from institutional based care, funding is limited from public sources. As an example, there are 7,500 Ohioans receiving the Individual Options Waiver, while 16,500 are on waiting lists.
To Meet These Challenges, We Must...
Expand to help so many others by:
- Increase the individuals served through the existing summer residential, summer day, and year-round respite weekend camps, new special needs camps (i.e. autism, visually impaired), and mission-oriented lease groups by 100%.
- Build, renovate, expand, and endow our facilities for year-round operation.
