Recreation Unlimited continues to be Ohio’s largest provider of sports, recreation and education programs for individuals with disabilities and health concerns. In 2009, Recreation Unlimited will serve over 1,400 individuals with disabilities and health concerns through five Recreation Unlimited camp programs offered throughout the year. These camps are Year Round Respite Weekends, Summer Residential, Winter Residential, Summer Day and Specialty Weeklong and Weekend Camps. In addition, another 2,000 individuals with disabilities and health concerns attend a mission-oriented lease group at the campus of Recreation Unlimited.
The dream of attending a Recreation Unlimited camp offering is possible due to the unique accessibility of the Recreation Unlimited campus and the careful individualized planning by our Recreation Unlimited team. Individuals with disabilities and health concerns have the rare opportunity to try something new and to create memories that will last a lifetime. As an additional benefit, a Recreation Unlimited camp gives parents and caregivers the opportunity for a well-deserved respite.
This is an exciting time for Recreation Unlimited. Summer and year round programs are growing and new camps, including a weeklong winter camp and the Greif, Inc. End of Summer Residential Camp have been created. Our new 20,000 sq. ft. “Life” Center opened in July 2008, the new Aquatic Playground and the renovation of the Jan Liebert Wilson Creative Center will give us the program capacity to continue to increase the number of campers served year round.
