Staff and Associate Alumni Spotlight #1
Alyssa Thompson, Summer 1998, Counselor
Recreation Unlimited Experience: “Working at Recreation Unlimited was the absolute hardest, most stressful position I've held in my lifetime due to the 24/7 nature of the program and the high need level of the campers for whom I was responsible. That said, Recreation Unlimited still holds a special place in my heart and wonderful memories of campers, fellow counselors, and joyful times.”
Experience Impact: “I went on to graduate from Eastern Michigan with a bachelor's and eventually a master's in special education and was a special education teacher for 16.5 years, teaching high school, middle school, and then preschool students with a wide variety of special needs in Michigan and then Virginia. I recently moved back to Ohio and I am currently working as a personal care assistant in the memory care unit of an assisted living facility.”

Recreation Unlimited Camps Update
Recreation Unlimited was very pleased to offer camp sessions for individuals with disabilities and health concerns in 2020. We are looking forward to continuing with camps and programs for individuals with disabilities and health concerns in 2021.
We have worked with the Delaware General Health Department and our medical team to determine the best protocols on running a safe camp. Commonly touched surfaces will be routinely disinfected, hand washing will be done on a regular basis, masks will be worn, physical distancing practiced, and daily temperature checks will be a few of the protocols being implemented. For a copy of our Camps Reopening Toolkit, please send an email request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
All 2021 camp dates are contingent on Government regulations, Recreation Unlimited policy and are subject to change. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or email.
